how are we meant to have our applications ready 6 months in advance-planning only takes place after new year

Hi Trev - I hear you. And I think there might be a couple of others out there feeling the same way.
But the response so far has been largely positive.

There are reasons behind the decision to move the process forward.
The main reason is that this way, artists have a longer period in which to raise supplementary funds.
They'll know by December whether or not they have a grant, and how much that will be.
This gives them another 4 months for fundraising initiatives, so they don't have to carry the whole lot themselves.
Getting the first grant tranche in December also means artists can make use of the xmas holiday period to start their build.

We're still fine-tuning the system, so I appreciate your raising your concern.

Luckily we've extended the application window till the end of November, which is a good 6 weeks away.
