    Hey Marcy!

Good to meet ya! I'm still glowing after an awesome "Rite of Passage" at BRC - were you there this year?

I'm involved with conservation as well as with AfrikaBurn / Burning Man, so would love to meet you. I can also hook you up with some other conservation / burner types. I will write you direct...

Welcome to Africa. Hope you enjoy your stay and if you are in Cape Town over New Years Eve hook up with mikesuss. He's bound to show up the ropes.

    Hello!

Cape Town has a very established tourism sector

    http://www.tourismcapetown.co.za/ctr...ent/en/za/home

the above site is the Cape Town tourism site and has links to guest houses

my advice is don't stay at one; spend some time at some of the city bowl (I hear good things about Ashanti )
but guest houses out on the Atlantic coast (false bay side) in places like Muizenberg or Kalk Bay are very recommended
There are also a large range of guest houses / backpackers in a student area called Observatory which is near our university called UCT

If you have time I'd recommend taking the baz bus up the coast to the garden route or even the Eastern Cape

    Hope this helps

Good luck with the logistics, and have a good trip!

There tend to be lots of theme camp fund raisers and other parties during summer, so I suggest checking the website & forum when you get to South Africa to see what the community is up to.

If nothing is happening (unlikely!) then start something
